The society is volunteer-run. Here is where you would fit.
Every drop-in night, league Sunday, youth clinic, and tournament the Volleyball Around Abbotsford Society runs happens because people give a few hours to it. There are no paid administrators. Program fees go to the gyms, the equipment, and youth programming; volunteers handle the rest. If you've ever watched a night run and thought "I could help with that," you were right. We'd love to have you.
Door & check-in. Greet players, check people in on the door app, and handle walk-ins at drop-in nights. It's the friendliest job in the gym and the easiest to start with. You do one evening at a time, no experience needed, and the training takes about fifteen minutes.
Scorekeeping. Leagues and tournaments need scores entered as games finish, so standings and brackets update live. If you can tap numbers on a tablet, you're qualified. Tournament scorekeepers get the best seat in the house all day.
Coaching youth clinics is our biggest ongoing need. It's a weekly commitment for the term, working with kids from first-touch beginners to club-bound players. Playing experience matters more than coaching credentials to start, and we pair new coaches with experienced ones.
Tournament-day crew. Setup and teardown, the food-bank donation table, prize draws, and the dozens of small jobs that keep an eight-hour event moving. Good for people who want to help a few days a year rather than every week.
Board & organizing. The society is governed by volunteer members who plan seasons, book gyms, and run the organization. If you want a say in where Abbotsford volleyball goes next, ask us about board nominations.
Apply online on our jobs page, where the volunteer, part-time, coaching, and board nomination forms all live. Or just email play@abbotsfordvolleyball.com and tell us two things: what you'd enjoy doing, and roughly how much time you want to give. Even an evening a month is genuinely useful. We'll match you with a role and someone to shadow. Most volunteers start at the door of a drop-in night and find their spot from there.
