About us

Volleyball Around Abbotsford Society

A community nonprofit that has kept Abbotsford playing volleyball since 2004.

Our mission

The Volleyball Around Abbotsford Society (VAAS) exists to make volleyball accessible to everyone in the Abbotsford, BC area, whatever your age, skill, or budget. We've been at it since 2004. Nearly every week of the year there's an adult drop-in, a youth clinic, a league night, or a tournament running in a school gym somewhere in the city, and we organize all of it.

We're a volunteer-run community sports organization. Program fees go straight back into the programs: renting the gyms, buying equipment, paying youth coaches, and keeping drop-in nights cheap enough that anyone can come. The fundraiser tournaments help cover the rest.

What we run

Adult drop-ins run multiple nights a week, October through June. Register online for a few dollars a night, or use a season pass, and play.

Youth clinics are weekly skills sessions for kids, taught by experienced local coaches. Pricing is pro-rated, so families can join partway through a term.

Our adult league is Sunday co-ed 6s. It runs a fall and a winter edition, with divisions, weekly results, and promotion and relegation.

And there are three tournaments a year: full-day co-ed events, including our annual KIWANIS tournament. Whatever they raise goes back into community volleyball.
