Youth training now runs in terms — and joining mid-term costs less

Three terms a year, $45 a week, and pro-rated pricing that means it's never too late to join.

Youth training at AVB runs in three terms across the school year, roughly October to December, January to March, and April to June, with weekly coached sessions on Sundays at Clayburn and Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at Centennial.

The pricing is easy to follow. Every term costs $45 per week of training, plus GST. An 11-week term is $495 + GST; a shorter term costs less. There are no registration fees, no fundraising minimums, and no equipment costs beyond gym shoes.

Joining late is fine, and cheaper. Term pricing is pro-rated week by week: if your kid joins a 12-week term with 7 weeks left, you pay for those 7 weeks. So a kid who discovers volleyball in November can start in November. The program page always shows the current pro-rated price, so what you see is exactly what you pay.

Here's what a session looks like. There's warm-up and movement work, then skill development in small groups (serving, passing, setting, hitting), then game play that puts the night's skill to work. Coaches group kids by age and experience so first-timers and club-bound players both get pushed at the right level.

One waiver, ever. A parent signs the youth waiver once, online, and it stays on file permanently. No annual re-signing, no paper forms at the gym door.

Find the current term for your kid's day of the week under Youth Clinics on the home page. Questions about which group fits? Email play@abbotsfordvolleyball.com and we'll point you right.
